  - Fresh basil

  - Pepperoni or prosciutto slices (optional)

                Preparation Method:

       1. Prepare the dough:

   - In a small bowl, mix the warm water with the yeast and sugar, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast activates.

   - In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix well until a smooth dough forms.

   - Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until it becomes elastic and firm.

   - Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rest for an hour until it doubles in size.

       2. Prepare the sauce:

   - In a small pan, heat the olive oil, then add the minced garlic and sauté until golden.

   - Add the tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. Add salt, pepper, and fresh basil to taste.

           3. Shape the pizza:

   - Preheat the oven to 250°C (475°F).

   - Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thin consistency.

   - Transfer the dough to a pizza pan brushed with olive oil.

            4. Add the toppings:

   - Spread the prepared tomato sauce over the dough, then add mozzarella cheese and your favorite toppings such as tomatoes, mushrooms, and olives.

          5. Baking:

   - Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust turns golden and the cheese is melted.

            6. Serving:

   - Serve the pizza immediately after removing it from the oven, garnished with fresh basil leaves.

                         Year of Invention:

Pizza in its modern form was discovered in 1889 in Naples, Italy.

                   Creator of the Original Recipe:

The pizza as we know it today is attributed to Italian chef Raffaele Esposito, who created a special pizza for Queen Margherita of Savoy using ingredients that represented the colors of the Italian flag: tomatoes (red), mozzarella cheese (white), and basil (green).
