 Dish Description:
Corn Chowder is one of the most popular traditional soups in the United States, known for its creamy texture and sweet corn flavor. It's a comforting dish often made with additional ingredients like potatoes, onions, and bacon to create a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

- 2 cups of corn kernels (can use fresh, canned, or frozen corn)
- 2 medium-sized potatoes (cut into cubes)
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 2 slices of bacon (cut into small pieces) or an alternative smoked meat
- 2 cups of chicken broth (or vegetable broth as a substitute)
- 1 cup of heavy cream or milk, depending on preference
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 tablespoon of flour (for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation Method:

1. Prepare the Base:
In a large pan, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the bacon pieces and fry until crispy. Remove the bacon and set it aside for garnish.

2. Cook the Vegetables:
In the same pan, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add the cubed potatoes and stir for an additional 2 minutes.

3. Add Corn and Broth:
Stir in the corn kernels and chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the  potatoes are fully cooked.

4. Thicken the Soup:
In a small bowl, mix the flour with a little water to make a smooth paste. Add the paste to the pot and stir well until the soup thickens slightly.

5. Add the Cream:
Pour in the heavy cream or milk, and heat gently over low heat, stirring continuously. Make sure not to bring the soup to a boil after adding the cream.

6. Serving:
Serve the soup in deep bowls, garnished with crispy bacon pieces and fresh parsley. It's best served hot with crusty bread on the side.

Year of Invention:
Corn Chowder is believed to have been discovered in the early 19th century (around 1820) in the United States, especially in the New England region, where corn was abundant and used in many traditional dishes.

Creator of the Original Recipe:
There is no specific individual credited with the invention of Corn Chowder, but it is believed that early farmers and settlers in New England were among the first to prepare this dish, thanks to the availability of corn, potatoes, and milk in the region.
