Preparing Sausages with Golden Gravy in the Oven

This recipe for oven-baked sausages with golden gravy is a delicious dish that everyone in the family, young and old, will enjoy.

The golden gravy adds a rich flavor to the sausages, making them tender and juicy on the inside with a slightly crispy outer layer.

          Ingredients:

500g high-quality sausages

2 large onions, sliced

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup chicken or beef broth (vegetable broth can be used for a vegetarian option)

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon turmeric for a golden color

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 teaspoon honey (optional, for a hint of sweetness)

Fresh thyme leaves for garnish

        Preparation Steps:

1. Preheat the Oven: Heat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a medium baking dish with a layer of olive oil.

2. Make the Golden Gravy: In a small bowl, mix the broth with the paprika, turmeric, black pepper, and salt.

Add the tomato paste and honey, stirring until the mixture is well combined.

3. Prepare the Sausages and Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, add two tablespoons of olive oil and the sliced onions and garlic.

Sauté until the onions become golden. Remove from heat.

4. Arrange in the Baking Dish: Place the sausages in the prepared baking dish and top them with the sautéed onions and garlic.

5. Add the Gravy: Pour the golden gravy mixture over the sausages and onions, making sure the sausages are well coated.

6. Bake in the Oven: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.

Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the sausages achieve a golden, crispy finish.

7. Serving: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh thyme leaves.

Serve the sausages with golden gravy hot, alongside white rice or mashed potatoes, which perfectly complements the meal.

      Tips for the Best Flavor:

Achieving the Golden Color: Use turmeric and paprika in the right amounts for a vibrant color and subtle taste.

Extra Flavor: You can add a little soy sauce to the gravy for deeper flavor.

Family-Friendly: This meal is ideal for both kids and adults, as it is flavorful without being spicy, and it pairs well with a fresh green salad for added balance.

This method yields a hearty and well-rounded meal, filling the air with an irresistible aroma that will have everyone excited to dig in!
