              Preparation of Cookies and Biscuits


                                   Ingredients:


        For the Cookies:


- 200 grams of softened butter

- 150 grams of white sugar

- 100 grams of brown sugar

- 2 eggs

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 300 grams of flour

- 1 teaspoon of baking soda

- 1/2 teaspoon of salt

- 200 grams of chocolate chips


         For the Biscuits:


- 250 grams of softened butter

- 200 grams of sugar

- 1 egg

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 350 grams of flour

- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

- A pinch of salt



                              Preparation Steps:

                                      

                                        Cookies:


1.  Prepare the Dough 


   - Beat the softened butter Prepare the Dough:


 with white sugar and brown sugar until smooth.

   - Add the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until well combined.

   - Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix until a smooth dough forms.

   - Gently fold in the chocolate chips.


2.   Baking:

   - Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

   - Shape small balls of dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

   - Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges turn golden.

   - Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.


                                Biscuits:


1. Prepare the Dough:

   - Beat the softened butter with sugar until creamy.

   - Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until the ingredients are fully combined.

   - Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix until a smooth dough forms.

   - Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.


2.  Shaping and Baking:

   - Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

   - Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into shapes using biscuit cutters.

   - Place the cut shapes on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden.

   - Let the biscuits cool completely before decorating or serving.

  - The origin of cookies is believed to date back to the  7th century.  in  Iran , where sweets started being made after the spread of sugar. However, the modern form of cookies we know today began in the. 19th century  in the United States. The creation of chocolate chip cookies is attributed to  Ruth Wakefield  who invented them by accident in  1938   when she ran out of melted chocolate and substituted it with chocolate pieces.


-                             Biscuits:


 - Biscuits originated in  medieval times  in Europe, where they were used as soldier rations due to their dry texture and long shelf life. Biscuits evolved over time and became part of European tea culture in the 19th century, particularly in the  United Kingdom .


 Evolution:  Today, both cookies and biscuits are an essential part of holiday traditions worldwide and are enjoyed with tea or coffee, or as snacks for both children and adults.
