   How to Make Canadian Butter Tart Cake

                            

                               Ingredients:


            For the Cake:

- 2 cups (250 grams) all-purpose flour

- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 cup (115 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature

- 1 cup (200 grams) sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 cup (240 ml) milk


          For the Topping:

- 1/2 cup (120 ml) caramel sauce

- 1/2 cup (120 ml) chocolate sauce

- 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped nuts (optional)



                             Instructions:


1. Prepare the Cake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.


2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.


3. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.


4. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.


5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.


6. Topping: Once the cake is cooled, drizzle the caramel sauce and chocolate sauce over the top. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
