How to Make Butter Tart Cake

                            Ingredients:

            For the Dough:

- 1 1/2 cups (190 grams) all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup (115 grams) unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes

- 1/4 cup (50 grams) sugar

- 1/4 cup (60 ml) cold water

            For the Filling:

- 1 cup (200 grams) brown sugar

- 1/2 cup (115 grams) unsalted butter

- 1/4 cup (60 ml) corn syrup or honey

- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

                             Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:  In a large bowl, mix the flour with the sugar. Add the cold butter and blend using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

2. Gradually add the cold water until the dough comes together. Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

3. Prepare the Filling: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Stir until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing well.

5. Assemble the Tart:  Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the dough on a floured surface and fit it into a tart pan. Bake the crust for 10 minutes until it starts to brown.

6. Pour the filling over the partially baked crust. Return to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden brown.

7. Allow the tart to cool completely before slicing and serving.
